Training & Resources
The Garden of Hope (GOH) Resource and Training Center is dedicated to equipping foster families, schools, churches, and daycares with the essential skills and knowledge needed to create safe, supportive, and nurturing environments for children. We offer a comprehensive range of training programs designed to address the diverse needs of those who care for children, particularly those in foster care. Our training programs are delivered by experienced professionals and can be customized to meet the specific
needs of your organization or family. We are committed to providing high-quality training that meets the needs of our community. We believe that well-trained caregivers and educators are essential to the well-being of children, and we are here to support you every step of the way
Key Training Programs
CPR & First Aid
This essential training provides participants with the skills and knowledge needed to respond effectively in emergency situations. CPR and First Aid certification is crucial for anyone responsible for the care of children, ensuring that they can act quickly and confidently in a crisis.
Working with Special Needs Children
This specialized training equips participants with the skills and knowledge needed to effectively care for and support children with special needs. It covers a range of topics, including communication strategies, behavior management, and creating inclusive environments.
EBI Training (SAMA)
The Strategies for Aggressive Management (SAMA) training is designed to help caregivers and educators manage challenging behaviors in a safe and respectful manner. This training focuses on de-escalation techniques, understanding triggers, and implementing behavior management strategies that promote positive outcomes.
Large Group Behavior Management
Managing behavior in large groups can be
challenging, especially in settings like schools, churches, and daycares. This training provides practical strategies for maintaining order, fostering positive behavior, and creating a supportive environment for all children.
Active Shooter Training
Unfortunately, in today’s world, being prepared for the unthinkable is necessary. Our Active Shooter Training provides participants with the knowledge and strategies needed to respond effectively in the event of an active shooter situation, helping to protect both children and staff.
Trauma-Informed Care
Understanding and responding to the impact of trauma is critical for anyone working with children, especially those in foster care. This training helps participants recognize the signs of trauma, understand its effects, and implement care strategies that support healing and resilience.
ADHD and ADD
Caring for children with ADHD and ADD requires a unique set of skills and understanding. This training provides participants with insights into these conditions, along with practical strategies for managing symptoms and supporting children’s success in various settings.
If you do not see a class on our list that addresses your specific needs, please reach out to us for a consultation. We can customize a training program to suit your requirements and either send a trainer to your location or host the training at our Resource Center Training Room.
