After caring for almost a hundred children through the foster care system, my wife and I decided that it was time to take our love for children to the next level. With 12 children in our own home, we have dealt with a variety of different behavioral situations as well as created an environment of stability and normalcy.
We realized there was a great need for a shelter in this specific area of Central Texas and we decided to take on the task of opening an emergency children's shelter.
Often times, children must sleep in government offices, due to the shortage of emergency shelters or lack foster family availability. Children need a safe, nurturing environment when they are displaced by life's circumstances.
My wife and I knew this undertaking would not be simple, but we felt God would provide for us on this journey that is now named Garden of Hope of Central Texas.
